You may be wondering:

Wasn’t this website called "Eventide"?

Before we launched this website, on the 15th of January 2024, we discussed several potential names for it. After narrowing it down to a few great options, we decided on "Eventide". It's a really catchy name which reminds us of the setting of sun on Friday evenings.

However, a few weeks later, after some consideration, we decided to go for one of our other top options, “Gather”, instead. As catchy as "Eventide" is, we decided that the name "Gather" would fit even better. 

Here are some of the reasons why:

• The word "Gather" conveys, in one word, our goal with this website:
  bringing Adventists together by providing them with an overview of what others are doing in their area.

• The word "Gather" also conveys the warmth of unity and fellowship, which is what we want to promote with this website.

• The word "Gather" is also shorter and easier for non-native English speakers to remember than a less common word like "Eventide".
